The Home Office has announced that EU Pre-Settled status holders will have their permission extended from 2 to 5 years. This will be automatic and will be reflected in their digital status. It is still necessary to carry out initial immigration checks when recruiting, using the Home Office online checking service, but a further follow-up check during the course of employment (and, it is expected, study) will not be required.
